Stars in the Sky

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6,7........ these stars in the sky are beautiful. And to think, my kids could be sitting in some little, old orphanage looking at and counting the same stars that I'm looking at right now. Maybe they're wondering where their parents are, who they will be, when they will get to see them..(us.... ). Wish I could give them a hug right now. Jeez, I think I need a hug...

Have you ever been wanting something so bad, waiting impatiently, wondering if God's timeline is ever going to match up with your timeline, your plans? I know, I know, God does know everything and knows what is best for our family. But....... can't we at least get a picture of their cute, little faces, hands, feet... something?!

This journey has been almost five years in the making for Heather and I, from the day we decided that we wanted to start having kids, to the day that we decided that adoption was what God had in mind for us. It really hasn't been that long since we started the adoption paperwork in February of last year, but sometimes it feels like that was a lifetime ago. We are waiting for that call from the Philippines.. the call that says we found the 2 kids that God has chosen for you.... That will be an awesome thing when that happens and I'm sure that every one of you will find out about it real quick!

Thank you to everyone who has blessed us in this last year. When we started this process, financially we weren't quite sure how we were going to make it happen but God has opened the doors and blessed us. We only have approximately $2,000 left to raise and we know that God will provide that when it is needed.

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.... I can't wait 'til the night that I can sit in the backyard, camp out in a tent with my kids and count stars with them ;)

  1. Great post, Matt. Waiting is not fun. At all. I cannot wait to hear from you guys after that great and glorious call with news of your children. The day you for some reason don't think about it (if that's even possible) is the very day they will call. You'll be doing something random, and the news will knock you to your knees. Great stuff!!
